MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT

Emzingo|U has worked with over 50+ organizations globally over the last several years. We try to source projects with a large variety of organizations that are working to solve many of the Sustainable Development Goals. The Field Partners vary every year, but here are some of the ones we have worked with to serve as a reference.

Organisation Description: Non-profit company that inspires desirability and value for Africa and its people through opportunities that allow young people to develop authentic cross-cultural networks, while empowering them with skills to become active agents of change in their communities. This takes place alongside tours that allow travelers to experience diverse cultures and make a difference in local communities.

The Project: As part of Travel for Change’s efforts to expand its offering the company now requires a complete review of its marketing efforts with the aim of ultimately formulating a revised marketing plan / strategy. This includes conducting a SWOT, evaluating the company's target market, their social media platforms and identifying their ideal customer in order to propose a list of marketing activities they should be following.

MICROWD Spain 2021

Organisation Description: Microwd builds economic solutions to social problems through the financial inclusion of women entrepreneurs in Latin America (Nicaragua, Peru, and Mexico). At the time, they were undergoing a critical period as they were about to diversify by offering micro-insurance, pension funds and social housing (apart from microcredits alone).

The Project: It involved creating a report identifying methods that raise awareness around the idea of social impact for entrepreneurs. Students also had to implement a method in the MiCrowd strategy that would help women entrepreneurs identify as changemakers and solidify the community around them.

TYPE OF PROJECTS

Our team works closely with all of our field partners to determine exactly what they need and where our Emzingo|U Fellows can truly add the most value. Over the years our fellows have leveraged their education and work experience to help organisations with the following themes and challenges:

  • Marketing, Strategy, Fundraising, New product or service, Business Modelling, Operations Management

*At the beginning of the program we present to students the field partners we will work with and allow them to share with us their preferences. We do the best we can to allocate them to the field partner of their choice.

what we expect from students

We want students to learn all they need to become a responsible and inclusive leader, to further enrich their graduate experience with real clients and projects, to inspire their career in social impact and, ultimately, to have fun and make friends for life. For this, we need students to:

  • Show up on time and attend all Emzingo|U sessions

  • Engage in all group learning experiences and reflection

  • Participate in all cultural immersion and social impact sessions

  • Complete the team consulting project with a social enterprise or NGO and give your 110% to it. The client is counting on the allocated team to help them build and grow!

  • Be open-minded: seize new opportunities for growth and reflect on the overall experience or any discomfort you may feel along the way.

  • Be courteous and kind: respect and engage with peers, field partners and speakers. This is a chance to grow personally and professionally!

  • Have fun and be awesome!!!
